GAMERGY, one of the world’s largest and most exciting esports, gaming, and entertainment events, will make its highly anticipated debut in the MENA region. The inaugural edition will be hosted by IMKAN Misr at Alburouj New Heliopolis in Cairo, Egypt, from January 30th to February 1st, 2025. This landmark festival is brought to you by MENATech Entertainment, a subsidiary of GGTech, in collaboration with strategic partners ievents, Influence Group, and eProjects LLC.
This groundbreaking event highlights the rapid rise of MENA as a hub for esports, reflecting the booming global and regional gaming industry. The global esports and gaming market, valued at $131 billion in 2017, is expected to reach $221 billion by the end of 2024. With approximately 3 billion gamers worldwide, the gaming sector
continues to gain momentum. In MENA, the industry was valued at $7.2 billion in 2023, with Egypt leading the charge—home to 40 million gamers, including 7 million esports competitors. This solidifies Egypt’s critical role in the global esports landscape.
A press conference held recently revealed the exciting details of GAMERGY Egypt, with Ahmed Abdel
Khaleq, General Manager of Tourism and Sports’ Events at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Sherif Abdel Baki, President of the Egyptian Esports Federation, in attendance. The event is sponsored by global brand Red Bull, with additional support from official radio partner NRJ, media partners CairoScene, El Fasla, Cairo 24, Yalla Kora, entertainment partner 2oolameme, and ticketing partner TicketsMarche.

What to Expect at GAMERGY 2025
GAMERGY 2025 promises three days of action-packed entertainment, featuring live shows, thrilling competitions, and unique experiences across six gaming zones. With over EGP 2 million in cash prizes up for grabs, the event will attract top-tier talent and esports enthusiasts from across the globe. Live streams will be available on Twitch and other platforms, giving fans an immersive digital experience.
Attendees can also expect to meet their favorite local and international content creators, with special appearances from influencers and gaming icons. Cosplay competitions, daily concerts, panel discussions with industry leaders, and a shopping experience in the event’s retail zones will make GAMERGY a truly unforgettable experience.
Additionally, esports influencer and TV presenter Marwan Serry, known for his work on beIN Sports, will serve as the official ambassador for GAMERGY 2025.
Since its inception in 2011, GAMERGY has successfully hosted over 20 editions in Spain, Argentina, and Mexico, and has established a strong presence in the USA, Panama, and El Salvador. The event’s debut in Cairo will further solidify GAMERGY’s status as a dominant force in the global esports scene.
